Then ask no more. I will explain everything in simple words about which monitor you should go for 1440p or 4k ultra high resolution.
Long ago, the resolution of the monitor was not a big deal. Back then our graphics cards were not capable enough to render the games at 4k resolutions. But now the market situation has changed and 1440p & 4k are our new normal. 4k gaming is not a myth anymore, if you can afford it you can have it.
Playing on 4k or 1440p is now somewhat affordable and current generation AAA titles support these resolutions and look beautiful.
Even current generation budget graphics cards are capable enough to render at 1440p. Then why do we not go for higher resolution. Overall, It’s a choice which you have to make depending on your budget and your pre-existing build.
What if I’m building a new PC rig-
Then depending on the choice of your CPU and GPU, you can pretty much choose for yourself. If you are thinking to buy something like the Rtx 3090 then there is no problem with 4k gaming for years.

GPU plays an important role too in choosing the 1440p or 4k resolution monitors. After All, it’s your GPU which will render these resolutions. Or else you will have to make compromises in some games depending on their graphic requirements.
Resolution and the size of the monitor-
The 1440p and 4k resolution make more sense when the size of the monitor is big. If you have already decided that you want to buy a big screen monitor like going above 32 inches. Then 4k resolution will be the optimal choice indeed.
Or if you want to stick in between 24 inches to 30 inches then 1440p isn’t a bad choice. Gaming is good on 1440p and considering the size of the monitor you will enjoy the gaming experience.
Ideal size for 1440p monitor-
In my opinion, the best size for enjoying 1440p resolution will be 27 inches. You can find plenty of options in 27 inches with 144hz or 240hz refresh rates depending on your budget.

Best size for 4k monitor-
Now in the case of 4k, there is no perfect size. According to me, the best size for a 4k monitor is 40 inches. You can enjoy 4k resolutions from 32 inches to 43 inches monitors ideally. But just don’t go with the numbers, consider your daily use also.
Consider the GPU-
The main component is the GPU to enjoy the best resolution in games. If your Graphics card is of weak performance then your monitor won’t be able to perform at its best. So consider investing in both components ideally. considering your use and style of playing games. What exactly you want from your build will be at last your decision.
