Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is an upcoming action-adventure game developed by Insomniac Games for PlayStation 5. The game features two playable characters, Peter Parker and Miles Morales, who both have their own separate side stories to uncover throughout the city. Players can switch between the two heroes in the open world, near-instantly thanks to the power of the PlayStation 5.
One of the biggest changes in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is the expansion of Marvel’s New York. The game is nearly doubling the size of the city, expanding beyond the East River, and players will be able to swing and soar over iconic landmarks across Queens and Brooklyn. This expansion also means faster traversal options such as the Web Wings, which can be combined with traditional web-swinging to move at exhilarating speeds.
The game features a rogue’s gallery of villains, including Kraven the Hunter and the monstrous Venom, who will strain our heroes, their relationships, and the place they call home. The game also introduces new abilities and gadgets for our heroes, including Pete’s new Symbiote powers and Spider-Arms, and Miles’ electrifying and thunderous bioelectric venom power, as well as Evolved venom abilities.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 features 65 suits, which include new original designs and fan favourites from films and comics. The game also introduces Suit Styles, an all-new feature that unlocks alternate colour shaders for some suits, which provide over 200 ways for players to outfit their Spider-hero.
The game will be launched on October 20, 2023, exclusively on PlayStation 5. Players who pre-order the game on the PlayStation Store will receive early unlocks to two new suits, the Web Grabber gadget, and 3 Skill Points. The game’s full soundtrack showcasing a score from award-winning composer John Paesano will be available on music streaming platforms starting October 20th.
