Hogwarts Legacy Game

Hogwarts legacy is a new action-adventure roleplaying game from Avalanche Software. It is now available to play. The game is set in the late 1800s time and all the events here are different from the harry potter series. The story lineup of Hogwarts legacy is completely fresh and has no connection to the old harry potter series. Portkey games have made sure that the stories of Hogwarts in this timeline do not affect the J.K rollings vision. 

Hogwarts legacy is going to be a new wizard story for all the buyers and gamers all around the world. There is no relation between the JK rolling and Harry potter throughout this series. The open world of Hogwarts legacy will give players a chance to be the wizard they wanted to be. 

Either bad or good the choice depends on you. 

Development of Hogwarts legacy-

According to numerous rumours, The portkey games began the development of Hogwarts legacy in 2018. So it took them almost 4 and a half years to complete the development process and release it to the public. The first footage of the gameplay was leaked on around 2020, 16 September. It was a PlayStation 5 clip as the users reported on Reddit. The game is Published by Warner Bros. under the branch name of Portkey games. Hogwarts legacy is available and soon to be available on all the major platforms including Nintendo Switch. 

DLC or No DLC-

Rumours are that the Hogwarts legacy will have a new DLC. But the report says negative. In the recent interviews, the developers have neglected the plan for any New DLC. And the same was reported By The IGN interview where the director of Hogwarts legacy Alan Tew told that currently there are no plans for DLC. 

Story, feature and gameplay brief-

Hogwarts Legacy is an upcoming action role-play video game set in the world of Harry Potter. But it’s going to be different from the harry potter franchise.

The game is developed by Avalanche Software and published by Warner Bros. The game is set in the 1800s, before the events of the Harry Potter series, and offers players a chance to explore a vast open-world environment, filled with magical creatures and environments, as well as the opportunity to create their character and attend the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

The game begins with the player creating their character and attending Hogwarts as a new student. The players can customise their character’s appearance, including their gender, hairstyle, skin colour, and facial features.

The game also offers a wide variety of clothing options, including robes, cloaks, hats, and shoes, which can be unlocked as the player progresses through the game.

As the player attends Hogwarts, they will have the opportunity to attend classes in various subjects, including Charms, Transfiguration, Potions, and Defense Against the Dark Arts. Each class is taught by a different professor, and the player will have to learn and master spells to progress through the game.

The spells are performed using the combinations of keys & spell-casting system. There is a total of 23 equipable spells and 7 additional spells which can player cast depending on their skill and level in the game. 

In addition to attending classes, the player will have the opportunity to explore the vast open-world environment of Hogwarts and its surrounding areas. The world is filled with magical creatures, including goblins, centaurs, and dragons, as well as various environments, such as forests, caves, and dungeons.

The player can also interact with other characters in the game, including students, teachers, and other magical creatures. The game features a branching storyline, with the player’s choices and actions affecting the outcome of the game. The player can choose to be a hero or a villain, and their decisions will have consequences throughout the game. 

These effects also impact the mission and items you will later receive in the story timeline. The game also offers various side quests and activities, which will help the player level up fast.

Hogwarts Legacy has become a highly popular game among the fans of the Harry Potter series, The game’s developers promised an immersive and authentic experience to players. So far the game is been selling very well on all the platforms. 

Negatives and Postive review of the game-

So far the Game is showing positive responses more than negative ones. But in the end, we can all agree that we wanted a game like this, to enjoy the nostalgia one more time.

Yes, the game has some flaws, like repetitive combats, and too many bugs.  On PC the game sometime gives graphic issues. You can’t enjoy this game on budget systems. Which makes it very demanding in terms of graphics or shows poor performance optimization.

Different platforms have rated the game differently on their part. And in my opinion, the game is good but feels incomplete.

Release date on Nintendo and PS4-

The game is already available to play on PC, PS5 and Xbox series X/S. On April 4 2023 it will release on PS4 and Xbox One. For Nintendo users, the optimization is currently ongoing. The switch users will be able to play the game from 25 July onwards as mentioned on the official site.

Hogwarts legacy is a good action game. Currently, you can buy the game at around $60 – $80 depending on the country and taxes. The game is an offline and single-player journey. There is no additional DLC as of now. But you can buy the deluxe edition of the game which offers a Dark arts pack.
